Glyn Wright

Yorkshire born Glyn got into guitar after being inspired by The Shadows and The Beatles, but soon became captivated by ‘60’s Soul’ music and joined a very busy six-piece band that gigged all over the UK, supporting name acts like The Pretty Things and Free. In the mid 70’s his work took him to Liverpool where he played in several local pop/rock bands and, notably, Eager Beaver, a tight-assed funk band featuring Dave Irving (Ex Sad Café) on drums and Pauline Wiggins on vocals. That band reached the semi-finals of the Melody Maker Battle of the Bands. In the early 80s he moved to Surrey where he joined a ‘function’ band with a couple of members (bass and keys) who had previously played in Brian May’s ‘1984’ group which preceded Brian’s more famous band.In the 90s Glyn joined a successful ten-piece band “Soul Machine” that gigged all over and especially seemed to corner the beer festival market!  He then caught the “Alt Country” bug and, since 2007, played in several bands doing the UK CMC circuit. Glyn joined The Climb in December 2022.He no longer needs to where a suit!
